Our Team

Dr. Alex Mancilla is a Southern Californian true and true.  He was born in Los Angeles, grew up in San Diego, went to UCLA where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science, and has lived in the Imperial Valley for the past 18 years. While at UCLA, Dr.Mancilla worked part-time at an optometry practice which sparked his interest and then passion for optometry and eye care.  Dr.Mancilla decided to leave the comfort and routine of Southern California to study optometry at the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry which provided a bilingual optometry program.  He graduated with honors in 2004 and is part of the Alpha Kappa Omega Optometric Honor Society.  

Dr. Mancilla then moved back home to Southern California and began working in corporate optometry in the Imperial Valley. He has provided full-scope comprehensive eye care including co-managing refractive, cataract, and corneal surgeries.  He has served the families of Imperial County and neighboring areas for over 18 years now and continues to love what he does.  He is active in his community and has participated in vision screenings and provided free eye exams as part of the Lions Club of the Imperial Valley.  In his spare time, Dr. Mancilla cherishes time with his wife, his two boys, and his baby girl.  He has a growing interest in golf and is an avid sports fan.  He is fluent in Spanish.
